We summited The Matterhorn (14,690 ft) on August 16th 2022 at 9.15am BST. It’s an iconic and gnarly mountain but was brilliantly guided by Kenton Cool. We took the classic route from Zermatt via the North-East ridge or Hörnli Ridge (AD III-). We stayed the night before our summit attempt in the Hörnli Hut. You need to be technically competent, fit and be able to sustain physical effort for circa 10 hours on the Matterhorn and it was brilliant to top out!
