The North Pole is an epic quest. Julian and team mates, Edward Crowe & Adrian Wells, navigated through ice rubble fields (sometimes 20km long fields of ice blocks which were two storey high), in unseasonably low temperatures of -63°C, blizzards and a bear encounter during their quest to reach The Pole. They walked/skied c.650km, pulling their food and equipment on sleds, each weighing around 80kg, to reach the Pole. Ultimately it became an epic journey of endurance and stamina to complete a legendary expedition.
